Starting Anew!

Sometimes, in the hustle and bustle, and simple life struggles we can easily lose perspective on how fortunate we are. It's easy to do. Don't beat yourself up over it. Read on, my lovies!

Dr. Frankle's prescription is to make a playlist of your most treasured songs de l'annee, look back through photos of the past year, and compose a "Thank You" list to send your happy vibes tumbling out into the universe. Whether via the web or in a cute little collage to tape to your wall for future forgetful moments, just give it a whirl. What better way to prepare yourself for all the amazing opportunities and memories to be made just around the corner?...

So, as I stand on my crimson painted tippy toes on the brink of a new year, here is why 2010 was truly rockin' for me:

London, Bath, Wales, Stratford-upon-Avon, traveling alone & abroad!

Learning to play the Ukulele! Nabbing my first seat at an official L.A. fashion week show! (N.Y.C. & Paris, you're next!) Getting accepted to the university of my dreams in Cardiff, Wales, (one of 12 students a year, I'm a lucky gal to have made the cut!) Lots of adventures with my fantastic trio of inspiring women; ShannyCakesTracy Doodles, and my Pinker Stinker.

Getting hitched to my best friend & love in fabulous vintage carnie style!

Breaking down creative barriers & still working on it. Road trips up the coast to Monterey, Carmel, & Santa Cruz. Honeymoonin' in Morro Bay. Staying at the famously kitschy Madonna Inn, (caveman suite thank you)! Front row at Billy Idol twice! Eeeeek! <----So good! Best friends loved and lost but not forgotten, Camping in Yosemite with Shanny . Modeling jobs, photographic adventures with my Holga and Diana, wardrobe styling gigs. Lots of beach adventures at our secret cove! Creative theatre shenanigans, one involving running into Rufio from "Hook"!!!

                                                          Seeing The Indigo once again!

Picking up old books and re-reading them, drawing in the wee small hours of the morning, rain drops galore, working on top secret projects for 2011, pumpkin spice lattes (iced, always!), putting glitter on anything I can make it stick to, tromping around the RenFaire once again, Lots of Disneyland days, making a new family from the bits of a tragedy, lots of home cooked organic dinners with that family! Yum. Invitations to new creative adventures for the new year, (so excited to get this one of the ground, will spill the beans soon!) Having a roof over my head, and always finding a way to make ends meet. Being reminded how truly beautiful every day can be, (big thank you's to the universe for this one, again!)...and this is the very short version!

A quick peek at my 2010 playlist includes:
"Georgia Bobo" - The Crow Quill Night Owls (<---magical to see live btw)

One of my favorite quotes from this year:

"It’s not who you are that holds you back, it’s who you think you’re not." ~Author Unknown

There, like a big Karmic band aid of bunny kisses. Makes me all warm and fuzzy. Now hop on it, even if you just make a mental check list, then send those thoughts up into the air sailing on the coat tails of a midnight kiss!

Off to glam! Happy New Year!

Hugs, Love, and Cotton Tails,

OOTD: Rainy day romp

The girl who jumped in puddles.....

Right before Christmas, I received the sweetest surprise... My gorgeous gal pal Bernie Dexter saw a post on my tumblr revealing my amour for poppies... Shortly after, this beautiful little number arrived on my doorstep. I was so excited I had to put it on right away and take pics, I literally hopped out of my pj's and  threw some eye liner on. The fact that it also happened to be exactly my fave shade of poppies was the cherry on top that tuned the beat of my heart to the pitter patter of rain drops falling around me.

Run away with the circus...

Step right up, step right up. Beset your peepers upon this tantalizing sight. A glimpse into the magical realm of illusion and intrigue....

Ever since I was a child, I've dreamt of running away with the circus, it was a way to unite all the things I adored while my imagination whittled away the hours. Horseback riding, lavish costumes, a touch of danger, and adventures to cities unknown. This, of course, was always envisioned in technicolor grandeur with just the right amount of grit to make it appealing to little macabre moi.

The carnie in me has been ever present throughout all my life and creative endeavors, from bellydance to my own circus costuming line, I can't seem to step away from stripes and sequins. I even had a circus themed wedding this summer.

So...much to my hearts delight, I recently ran across stills from the set of "Water for Elephants", based upon the beautiful book by Sara Gruen.

Men in dashing 1930's garb, women with Harlow-esque glamour, you know I'll be watching!
How to channel the feel of this film into your wardrobe up next...

(You must click this and watch in HD. As your maker, I command you.)

Ummm. P.S. Christoph Waltz can be my ringmaster any day...Yum

Hugs, love, and champagne bubbles!
